The Repeater of Diagnostic for Profibus DP links the Profibus PD RS 485 segments. It controls the wiring on the 2 linked segments. In case of error, it transmits a message of diagnostic to the master DP by indicating the type of error. It permits the connection between 3 Profibus segments (max. length: 100m).

It permits: the increase of the number of stations (max. 127) and the length of the bus; the regeneration of signals in magnitude and in time; the optical isolation of the segments of bus; the assistance to the putting into service thanks to a switch for the separation of segments, to the display of the activity on the bus and to the possibility to connect a tool of analysis.
